How To Frame Vitals | EZ V Sight

Using the Tick-Marks to Gauge Distance

Sighting-In

Sighting-In is EZ but follow the directions! Enclosed with your EZ V Sight is a Vital Zone Paper Target (see Images Above) and Sight-In Instructions. The black oval on the Vital Zone Paper Target represents the average width of most regulated hunted game species and each pair of Tick-Marks represents your 20-yd, 30-yd, 40-yd, etc. “pins”. Once you Sight-In pursuant to the Sight-In Instructions, your distance will be set for each pair of Tick-Marks starting from 20-yds, 30-yds, 40-yds, etc.

Large Game – Finding and Framing the Animal’s Vitals

The vitals of most regulated hunted game species (Deer, Elk, Antelope, Bear, Moose, etc.) averages the size of a basketball – this “hypothetical basketball” will fit in the “V” at the exact distance to shoot once you are sighted-it.

Wherever the equivalent circumference of a basketball fits within the walls of the “V” sets the correct distance to your target once you have sighted-in.

Notice that this imaginary basketball (see image one above) is at 20-yds because the circumference of a basketball fits snuggly within the walls of the V at 20-yds at the center of the imaginary basketball. If the imaginary basketball is at 40-Yards (See image two above), the equivalent circumference of a basketball will fit lower on the V.

The deer anatomy images above demonstrate how to Frame the vitals within the “V” at 20-yards facing broadside, forward and quartering away.

For a broadside shot, imagine the size of a basketball as a familiar size reference for framing the deer’s vitals (between the deer’s front shoulder and the end of the rib cage). Wherever the equivalent circumference of a basketball fits within the walls of the V sets the correct distance to your target. If the deer is at 30-Yards, the equivalent circumference of a basketball will fit higher on the V than if the deer is at 50-Yards. Your arrow will impact in the center (middle point of a circle or sphere) of the imaginary basketball resulting in a double lung shot without having to pre-range distance.

As the distance of the deer becomes further away, the vitals will fit lower within the “V” at the exact distance to “Frame It & Claim It!”.

The next three images illustrate how to help your mind associate the width of the vitals with the average size basketball to make that perfect double lung shot.  Once you trust the unbelievable accuracy of the distance ranging “V” Technology, your ready to “Go Pro”!

“Going Pro” means getting rid of the Tick-Marks (pins) by flipping your V-Insert around.  This is where the MATH-MAGIC happens!  Once you are sighted-in with the correct FPS V-Insert, you don’t need the Tick-Marks!  Just “Frame & Claim”!

Turkeys

Going Pro W/Distance Ranging V-Technology

A Turkey’s body is approximately the average width of a deer. To shoot a Turkey using the distance ranging V-Technology, simply frame the Turkey’s body (minus the head and tail) until the Turkey’s body fits snuggly within the walls of the “V” and shoot! The arrow will impact in the center of the Turkey’s kill zone.

Turkeys

Pin Sight Method

If you want to use the EZ V Sight to hunt Turkeys using the traditional pin sight method, simply range the Turkey and center the Turkey vertically between the V configurations (see first image above) with the appropriate pair of Tick-Marks (distance) centered on each side of the vital zone. Your arrow will impact straight down the middle.

Small Game Birds

Going Pro W/Distance Ranging V-Technology

The vitals of small game birds is NOT the equivalent size of a basketball.

Therefore, all you have to do to “Go Pro” is compensate for the width of the small game animal by framing the small game animal in the center of the “V” leaving space on both sides of the small game animal that would equal and/or compensate the width of the imaginary basketball. This sets your distance without having to pre-range.

Once you get use to framing that imaginary basketball, you can hunt any size game animal or simply use your sighted-in Tick-Marks as a traditional pin sight. EZ!

Small Game Animals

Pin Sight Method

If you want to use the EZ V Sight to hunt small game animals using the traditional pin sight, simply range the small game animal and center the animal vertically between the V configurations (see first image above) with the appropriate pair of Tick-Marks (distance) centered on each side of the vital zone. Your arrow will impact straight down the middle.
